Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of health behavior, mental health and quality of life in the adult women with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: This study was conducted by a secondary data analysis of "The Fourth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2007 and 2008". The study subjects were included 185 patients among 14,368 women aged over 19 years with rheumatoid arthritis for this study. The data was analyzed using the PASW program for descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: The mean score of quality of life was .76. Aged group less than 65 old years, group received education more than middle school, groups without depression and suicidal thought had significantly higher score of quality of life. Conclusion: This study suggests that age, education, and psycho-emotional status should be considered when planning nursing interventions enhancing quality of life for women with arthritis.
